Yesterday I happened across a lovely discussion about a change in logo by that social media guy Chris Brogan, who I admire for his authenticity and walking his talk. Grass does not grow under his feet. In the short time I have been following his tweets and reading his blog, change is always happening at his media stations, unlike my own website(s) that have become overgrown weedy gardens. In his latest discussion he rolled out his new logo, and asked for comments. Perhaps its just me but there was an edge to the discussion with many people liking his previous logo better. However, Chris Brogan is just far to intelligent to throw away a good logo. His new one however controversial, from an energy model perspective is quite a good one combining earth and brow chakra colors representing vision and grounding with a circle connoting no beginning and no end but an ever-present now. The question is does he resonate with it and the intended results?
It is an interesting idea to explore if you resonate with the coherence of your own logo, the intentions behind it, and the reactions of others. Energy fields between people, situations and entities like companies or their logo are constantly exchanging energy. In the swirling mix 3 different kinds of exchanges come to mind.
1)Reaction energy exchange – where – well each person simply reacts, typically non coherently and shuts down their energy field to avoid absorbing the frequencies of others. Protection is the name of the game here and growth is non-existant. Sales likely don’t happen either.
2) Transaction energy exchange – in which we are selective about what we let into our sphere of energy. The exchange is based on protection and filtering so if we don’t like what we are hearing we block it. Growth is limited here. Sales will continue as before.
3) Interaction Exchange – our coherent energy field combines with the coherent energy fields of others which creates more streaming and expanding. Negative ideas are accepted but don’t stick because the coherent energetic structure won’t hold them. Ideas sizzle, everyone is enlivened in the exchange, we experience unbounded growth. Sales tend to happen a lot in this environment.
How does the energy of others combine with your logo? What kind of exchange is created?
When Chris Brogan implemented his latest media change with a new logo and asked for feedback, from my energy perspective, he was also integrating a new high energy state and I am guessing a new clientele. In his comments, he obviously resonates with his new creation despite the reactions. I personally think he is on to something. A new level of success can paradoxically also make us stuck when we resonate with others not liking it. What would you do if a lot of people reacted with negative comments about your logo? Energetically, the tricky part is to transcend the fears that current followers won’t accept the new logo (identity) as expressed in their comments and any fall out that may incur.
However, once we stop resonating with the reactions of others when we reach a new place of growth, we will experience a new high energy state as the new norm. In Chris Brogan’s case, I predict those who continue following will have to bring a similar level of coherence to be on the same page . The logo will attract a new field of energy whose participants are aligned with his own new high energy state – or they would like be.
Lastly an effective logo, no matter how bad it is from the eyes of the designers, projects our own coherence to the world. If we resonate with our positive intentions related to its underlying purpose we’ll experience very positive results. If we select something that looks good, pleasing to the eye but it covers up an underlying set of counter intentions, – no matter how great that logo looks, will attract back the non-coherent vibes.
You’ll be hard pressed to find my logo, it is a pleasure I am indefinitely postponing! I admire Chris Brogan for going from one great logo to an even better one!
What about you? Do you resonate with your logo?
Carolyn W.

Carolyn, I found your blogpost through Chris Brogan, and I really, REALLY like what you have to say about his logo, in all respects.
I am a designer by trade, and am also very much involved in the healing arts (on the receiving end — I get regular cranio-sacral and healing touch treatments), and what you say about his new logo resonates with me very much. Personally, I like the simplicity of it, and I love the color. I also like the fact that it is a complete circle, and from the Native-American perspective, “never ending.” And that is Chris in a nustshell, to me. A never ending, positive influence on all generations. He uses social media as his platform, but encompasses everything about being human. The circle is a perfect choice for him, in my opinion.
Thank you so much for sharing your perspective. I look forward to reading more of your posts!
Hi Pamela – thanks so much for your perspective. Looking at the energy fields of companies and their owners really fascinates me especially as they are showing up on the internet. We are afterall energy beings and I think what is happening is that without the masses realizing it we are becoming more conscious or our own field of energy and the energies of others. There is probably more room for healing work in design that we know. Sounds like you are in the right place! Looking forward to your participation. Let’s exchange ideas!
All the best,
Carolyn
